Well another birthday has come and gone and we had a very eventful day! We had some yummy breakfast at Golden Spike cafe. Chris had to do some clinical hours at the Weber state girls basketball game so I went and played with Julie and kids, always fun.  Chris picked to got to Toad's in Harrisville (one of our most favorite places to go) for pizza and games. I think that everyone that came had a good time. I know we did. Sorry for anyone who couldn't make it, you missed out.     McKinley shootin' some deer.        Benson trying to play whack a shark. On August 28, 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave one of the most famous speeches in American History. A speech which helped paved the way for equal rights in this country. The most recognizable part of this speech is the section where he starts each sentence with, "I have a dream..." On January 20, 2009, I listened to the benediction at President Obama's inauguration and thought to myself, "This was not a part of Dr. King's dream." The benediction was given by Rev. Joseph Lowery. He is labeled as a leader in the American civil rights movement and has been honored at the "International Civil Rights Walk of Fame". I thought this would be a cool idea, and a chance for me to brag about how awesome we are ;) I decided to create a playlist that only had bands on it that either Jena or I (or both) have seen in concert. So you are now listening to this playlist. Here is a little information to go along with the playlist: It only includes bands that we wanted to see, it doesn't include opening bands (unless we really liked them). You will notice that there is more than 1 song for a few of the bands. This reflects how many times we have seen them live. (Yes, I have seen Red Hot Chili Peppers 3 times, and I will see them again if I have the chance.) I refused to include songs from 2 of the concerts that Jena has been to, for personal reasons. These concerts are Garth Brooks and The Dixie Chicks. The first concert I ever went to was in 8th grade and it was Jimmy Page and Robert Plant. You know, from Led Zeppelin. Here's the deal. Instead of making a "new year's resolution" (nothing against those who do) I decided to make a list of things I'm not going to accomplish in the year of 2009.  1. I am not going to make my bed every day. I never have so there is no point in starting now. 2. I am not going on a diet. They don't work for me. I just try to eat as healthy as I can. 3. I am not going to put the laundry away as soon as I am done. It can sit in the basket for a day or two, it's still clean. 4. I am not going to "freak out" about the economy. We all need to spend less and be more frugal. 5. I am not going to get angry at my husband for wanting to stay up late and play video games. Just as long as he gets his studying done first. :) Now, this is a list that looks pretty realistic to me. Happy New Year everyone.
