One Day

I applied for my passport today so it got me thinking... One day we plan on visiting every one of these places or at least I am. They are in no particular order, just so you know. Lisbon, Portugal This is where Chris was called on his mission so we decided the first time we go to Europe, this would be it. We actually are really going there this October for our 5th anniversary. Needless to say I can't wait! I know you are all jealous. Maui, Hawaii Since we bought out tickets to Portugal we earned two free tickets to anywhere in the US. I think I have talked Chris into going to Maui. My sister Carrie went there on her honeymoon and absolutely loved it, so I thought we would give it a try. Australia I have always wanted to hold a Koala bear so what a better place to do it. Isn't this the cutest koala you have ever seen? Egypt, Africa I have also wanted to ride a camel, crazy huh? I also am fascinated with the pyramids. I think my grandpa went here once and I just think it would be...

What's in a name?

For some reason, and I don't know why, I wanted to talk about why we have the names we have. It may be because of all of the babies being born in my family. Who knows. I have also added for your enjoyment some pictures of us as babies :) I asked Annette (Chris' mom) why they had picked Christopher . She said that she wished she had a good story, but that is just a name they liked. They did have girl names picked out though. If Chris would have been a girl his name would probably have been Trisha. His middle name is Alan and they do have a story behind that name. Annette was friends with Alan Dixon (the plumber) growing up and Brad was mission companions with him in Mexico. To make a long but good story short, that is how Brad and Annette met. When I asked my parents about my name, Jenalyn , I was told that they didn't go to the hospital prepared with a name (like most people do now) and my grandma Gunther said to use her best friends name. I was always happy that my gran...

Our Mexican Riviera Cruise

In October of 2007 we went on a cruise to the Mexican Riviera over our 4 year anniversary. We went with my parents and two other couples. This is a video that I made from pictures taken by all four couples. Just in case you wanted to know, the two songs are "Fly Away" by Lenny Kravitz and "Cumbia de los Muertos" by Ozomatli. A few explanations: The guy jumping off the rocks into the river was at a restaurant called Chico's Paradise. This was the view from where we were eating. The video of two people just eating is the Mildenhalls trying Escargot. The two guys in the green and red stripes are Chatree and Vuiche from the Philippines. They were our waiters at dinner every night on the cruise. There's a few pictures of school children and then a picture of me, a lady, and my dad with a blurry face. When we were in El Rosario we went to a school and donated supplies. I don't even remember what they called it, but the flaming cake that you see in the food sec...

A New Hobby

A few summers ago my family went on a vacation to Sun Valley Idaho. Chris went fly fishing with my brother Glade and found that he really liked it. Chris decided that he wanted to take up fly fishing but, he never bought a rod. Well, today was the day. Trent helped him pick it out and gave him some pointers on how to cast. He doesn't quite know when he is going to be able to put it to use, but he hope some time soon. Here are a few pictures of him giving it a whirl. It was also my nephew Garretts' 3rd birthday. He is so cute!

We love our Moms!

We just wanted to take the time and say "We love you MOM!" We are so blessed to live so close to home. Our moms are the best! Brad and Annette on our cruise in Mexico       celebrating their anniversary. Annette and I  had such a fun time going shopping for the  dresses we got to wear to dinner.         JoEllen and Val holding one of their newest grand babies-Owen. My mom is always good to  go and help my sisters with their new babies! I know she will do the same for me when we start our family. No time soon for those of you who are wondering.

Soccer Saturday

Once again our Saturday was filled with... you guessed it Soccer! Chris played in his rec. league and scored the only 3 goals for his team. The game ended up at a tie. :( We then went to the Real Salt Lake game. Chris got tickets from his work and we got to sit in the box! It was amazing!                     When we sat down there was a old guy next to us and he asked Chris if he was one of the reserve players for the team. Chris told him no, but it made him feel good. The players that are either injured or are not playing sit up in the box so Chris was pretty excited to see all of them. Real, just so you know, won the game 2-1. It was pretty exciting. p.s. It might look like my eyes are closed in the picture, but they are not. I was blessed with squinty eyes!
