Our Everyday Life: Weeks 15-21

Where do I begin?! A lot has happened in the few short weeks that I haven't blogged. We unexpectedly moved back to Utah! Not only Utah, but our old hometown.

****

Before we moved back to Utah, we visited family in Utah for Thanksgiving.

Creating hand turkeys with Mema for thanksgiving.

Jordis was quite positive that we couldn't see her.

Barber Family Photo!

I think he's pretty handsome...

Boy band shot.

All the grand kids.

We made candy sleds to race at GG's house with some of Jordis' cousins.

We frequently head to the Harley store as a form of entertainment. Jordis could ride on this rocking  Harley all day. Notice that she HAS to wear gloves while riding.

We had one last get together with some of our really good friends in Twin before we left.

Visiting someones house that they decorate their entire yard and home for Christmas.
This is coming down the drive-way going towards their house.

This is their two car garage converted into a Christmas village.

Of course Livia and Jordis found a cat.

Here's their home! Crazy, huh?!

Heading back up the drive-way towards the camel.

Jordis' favorite part was feeding this ridiculously large camel some carrots.

Moving back to UTAH!

We received the okay for our super sweet landlords to refinish the old kitchen cabinets.
 Here's the before.

And here's the during.
We're still painting the hardware...

Jordis with Mrs. and Mr. Claus.
Chris' niece, Kaydence, invited us to watch her in her first TaVaci concert! Of course we said yes! She did SO good! Jordis wanted to run up there and sing with the kids the entire time.
It was actually my first concert that I've ever watched since I was always involved with them.

She just couldn't take off her gloves. Not even for her nap.

A sampling of our Random Acts of Christmas Kindness we did this year.
Thanks McCammons for the great inspiration!

We walked around the temple parking lot and left notes and a surprise on car windshields.

Sadly, Jordis broke her clavicle while playing with some of her cousins. She cried for a while, but actually handled it quite well.
We're so so so lucky that Chris has the training and knowledge that he has in injuries and how to take of them. No emergency room visit for us!

A couple of days after the fracture. This was the worst that it looked. Not too bad!
p.s. That was a snowflake tattoo on her chest from our sweet neighbors, Kim and Gary.

Christmas time is here!
Jordis got to be Mary for the re-enactment of The Nativity.

All the grand kids participated (minus Maddison).

Christmas Eve with the Rasmussen family.
Jordis spied Santa coming down the hall and squealed with delight!

Jordis got a shopping cart from Santa!

Mema and Pop Pop Barber with the best Santa's helper around!

Some sweet treats from Uncle Doug and Aunt Kathy.

Christmas morning!

Jordis got this snow suit for Christmas and when we gave it to her, she declared that she was wearing it to bed that night.

Putting the new snow suit to good use.

She asked daddy to throw the snow at her.

Her favorite part  of playing in the snow is actually eating it. She kept mistaking the white bear ears on her gloves for snow...

Eating a yummy breakfast over the Christmas break with Doug and Kathy. We went to Element in Logan and it was delicious!

And finally, I got around to taking her 2 1/2 pictures.
It was super cold so it took her a while to quit jumping around, but we got a keeper.

I think this is how she really feels about getting her pictures taken.

We here at the Barber household hope you all had the happiest Christmas and merriest new year!

Stimulating... the economy.

Wahoo! Life is great. Really. Chris is finished with another semester (and didn't fail any classes ;)  Also,  I have a husband back... for now. The only thing with Chris being done with school is now he fills in his time with soccer.  If it isn't one thing, it's something else. I am so happy it is spring. Who is with me here? We are fixing up the outside of our house this year and hopefully the inside next year.   In case you can't remember what my barn house looks like... here you go. Scary isn't it? Don't worry, the awnings are already gone. First up is new windows. Thank you $1500 tax credit! We were going to do windows last year and boy are we glad we waited. I would have to say that we are doing our part to "stimulate the economy."  First, new car.  Nice picture, huh? Second, new t.v. I put this together myself. Aren't you proud? Chris and I seriously feel like we aren't doing anything different as far as spending money goes. We have been

Not Going Private!

There has been a sudden surge of bloggers changing their blogs to private after a certain news station ran a story about the "dangers of blogging" a couple of weeks ago. This is just to let you all know that we are not letting a slow news day during sweeps month decide the future of our blog. There's a good possibility that we are going to do something completely random and spur of the moment in the future and you can read all about it right here, no password or invitation needed...

New & Old Traditions

Here is our new tradition. Sunday night is watch a movie from our childhood night. You remember those movies that you just loved and you thought were the best movies ever? Think again. Chris's 1st choice- Cloak & Dagger I had never even heard of this movie (have you?), but apparently Chris loved it as a kid. Chris's rating as a kid- 5 stars Chris's rating now- 4 stars I came home from a singing practice and Chris was about 1/4 way through the movie and I asked him how he was liking his movie. He said it was way intense and just as good as he remembered. Jena's 1st choice- The Dark Crystal Jena's rating as a kid- 4 stars Jena's rating now- 2 stars Chris had never seen this movie before and would be fine with never seeing it again. I think I will have to agree. **** On to old traditions. Christmas at the Barber house. Every year we get together a few days before Christmas (so everyone can be there at the same time) to eat dinner, read Christmas stories, watch
