Optometry's Meeting 2008

Hello everybody! I just got back from a conference in Seattle Washington for my work. Let me tell you... I had a blast. I could seriously move there tomorrow.  As we were coming into Seattle we passed Mt. Rainer. I couldn't resist taking a picture from the plane. I guess I have a tendency to do that. We went to our hotel first and they let us check in early, which is awesome! The Cheesecake Factory was just down the street from our hotel (along with pretty much anything else we wanted to do) I had never eaten there before and it was just OK for me. The Cheesecake by the way was extremely good though. p.s. I really stink at taking these kind of pictures. After lunch we walked down to Pike's Place Market. We had to walk through it to get to the Seattle Aquarium. I loved it by the way. I just love how cute sea otters are. I could watch them play all day. After the Aquarium we went on an Harbor Cruise, these are a few pictures of the view along the way.   The view from my from room...

Down Time...

The blog will have a bit of down time for the next few days while Jena is in Seattle. Home of the Space Needle: And next year's new MLS club, Seattle Sounders FC...yes, everything always goes back to soccer with me.

Dang it.

Well... the Netherlands lost today to Russia 1-3. Our next team we are going to support is Spain and they play tomorrow. I sure hope that they win! Or maybe we are bad luck and shouldn't voice our opinion on who should win, we seem to be bad luck! On a lighter note, RSL won their game tonight 2-1. Yeah... they played the first place team and win and two days ago they place the last place team and tie. I guess I don't get it. By the way, Turbo Jam is still kicking my butt, but I like it! 06/22/2008- update- Spain won Italy in a shoot out!!!

A New Calling

We have been in our new ward for 6 months and Chris and I have still not received Callings, (not complaining),  until now. I am Primary Chorister, again! Yeah!   I love this Calling! I had this in my last ward, although I was an assistant to my mother-in-law. She was great by the way. :) I would truly appreciate some help if there is anyone in this same Calling or are in the Primary in their own ward.  p.s. Chris has still not received a Calling, but the bishop mentioned something about Young Mens which he has never served in before and he would LOVE it! Cross your fingers!

Sad day in the Barber household.

Portugal played Germany today trying to advance to the semi-finals for the Euro cup. Sad to say,  they lost 2-3. :(   We are now forced to pull for the Netherlands, which is an OK second. Oh well, I guess we only have 2 years to wait till the world cup. :)

Before I die...

I just got done reading the July issue of Real Simple, the magazine, and there is an article where people wrote in and told the top-three things on their lifelong to-do list. It got me thinking and although  I have a lot more than three things, here are my top three. 1-Have a farm. 2-Be an expert Gardner. 3-Help fix up and drive an old classic car. Of course I have a TON more things I want to do before I die, but these are the things that I feel are actually realistic!  I want to know what everyone else has on their list so I TAG everyone who reads this. Can't wait to read your next post!

Pump It Up!

My friend (yes, I have a friend), Stephanie, bought Turbo Jam and we decided to do it together. We have done it two times already and it is kicking our butts! My ultimate goal is to lose 17 pounds by October 1st. We will see how it goes. Wish me luck!
