New

Here's what's new. Somebody got to take a bath... finally. It took a little over 3 weeks for the entire cord to fall out. She loves, loves, loves to take a bath. And I love her bath tub made by  Puj . I also can't get enough of this picture! Some of the new things Jordis is doing are: * Smiling (a lot) * Laughing * Singing with mommy * Sleeping amazingly at night * We think she now weights about 11 lbs. In other " new " news... I will be attempting to learn how to sew. Thanks to my beautiful sister-in-law,  Shari . She gave me this here sewing machine, but I can't remember how to use it. I think the last time I used one is in 7th grade home economics :) The plan is to make our Halloween costumes this year. Here's to hoping! I will be a new student this year at Weber State! I'll be studying  vocal pedagogy . If any of you know me well, you know how much I love raisinets. I tried out the new  cranberry raisinets and they are delicious. I highl...

Happiness is...

... what's left when you take away unhappiness. We tend to think of happiness as something “out there,”  waiting just beyond some future achievement or change in circumstances. This makes our happiness contingent on factors we cannot directly control. If we think of unhappiness (or unease)  as a function of how we are relating to the present moment  — whatever it contains — then we always have an opportunity to improve the quality of our moment. This way power over our quality of life resides with ourselves, and not with luck, status or other externals. My facebook status the other day was: I am happy. Truly, I am. Chris & I have been making a huge effort to be happy (or positive) all the time. It isn't the easiest thing to do, but we're doing our best :0) This is what makes me happy. Jordis spit up what seemed like her last two meals all over (that's why they are both topless!) The situation had potential for Chris to be very upset and anxious, but instead he...

What?!

She can't be 2 weeks old already!  Everyone always says that time goes by so fast and they grow up so quickly. Did I believe them? No. I figured time already goes by so fast, how can it go any faster?  I guess I was wrong.  I thought I would share a few more pictures of our little peanut. Enjoy We hope you all have a fabulous 4th of July!

What a glorious feeling

Where to begin!  First off, sorry this is a few days over due. But, so was Jordis . 8 days as a matter of fact. I would like to share with all of you our most wonderful, exciting, and glorious experience of the birth of our first child. Or, you can skip over it and look at her pictures ;) The last picture of me pregnant. Boy do I look huge. I left you off in the previous post that we would be heading to the hospital Wednesday the 16th to see where my progress was. Well, on Tuesday night, I started having contractions! They were 30 min. apart so no big deal. At about 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning they were about 15 min. apart so I could no longer sleep. I decided to call my doctor later that morning and he said to come in so he could see where I was. I had progressed to a 2 and 70% effaced. The good news was that I didn't have to go to the hospital to be started that night. He said to plan on going in at 4:00 a.m. on Thursday the 17th to start on pitocin . As luck would have it,...

This & That

Here's what's new.  My due date has come and gone (June 9th) and I had an appointment with my Doc. today. Sadly, I'm not really progressing :( I'm at about a one and a half and 25% effaced. He so kindly stripped the membrane and then proceeded to tell me the plan for the week. Hopefully, our sweet 8 lb 6 ounce (he guess at how much she weights right now!) baby will come on her own. If she doesn't, I'll head to the hospital Wednesday night to be checked and if I haven't progressed anymore I'll stay the night and they will try to get me going. Goodness. Of course we will keep you updated either here or on the Facebook ;) **** BJ & Kristin blessed their precious girls a couple of weeks ago. Here's the cute family Don't you just love this?!  It makes me giggle when I see them in the stroller.  I just love it that Chris will hold other people's babies. Especially these cute girls. Milley trying to get both fist into her mouth. Marley c...

M & M & M

I can't even begin to tell you all just how much we love these little girls.   Can you believe that they are 6 months old? Well, I can't.

What's going on

ahem. I have had every intention of updating this here blog just about every day. Needless to say that hasn't happened. Obviously. Without further ado... First Dr. Terry hired my replacement and I'm currently training her. She is going to do a wonderful job!  It is truly bitter sweet, but I can't wait to experience being a stay at home mom (and going back to school)! Second Chris so sweetly got us Michael Buble tickets for Christmas and we finally got to enjoy that present. Sorry to say that I didn't take any pictures so I stole this one. Seriously people, THE BEST live show I have ever seen. Third Baby Barber Open House I have a secret obsession with planning and throwing parties. I wish I could get paid to do it. I also wish that I had infinite amounts of money so I could do everything that I see in my head.  Here is a little peak at some of the food and decor. The plan was to have the open house in the backyard but the weather didn't want to cooperate. I be...
