24th of July Weekend

We had a fantastic weekend with ALL of my family and some new friends. My little brother, Dallin, got us a cabin in the Sundance area which is absolutely gorgeous! Not sure why, but I didn't take many pictures. Oh, well. Chris playing my dad in a friendly game of pool. All of the kids that were in the game room got smurfed via my dad. **** Chris' parents always cook breakfast for the entire family for the 24th. Jordis having fun on the trampoline.    While taking pictures of some flowers in the Barber's garden, I stumbled upon this thing... Yes it was huge and sick. Along the line of "bugs", Jordis held her first roly poly! Can you take a guess at what this is?  I'll tell you! It's the frame for Brads 1966 Cutlass that Chris drove back in high school.  Can't wait for it to get finished!

Hello sunshine!

Eat some of grandma's famous chocolate pudding yum yum cake for my birthday?  Yes, please! E.T. phone home? Yes, please! Talk on grandma's cell phone? Yes, please! This girl never fails to make me smile.

For Good

image lds.org Of course one of the first things that popped into my head after starting our Spending Fast was all of the things that I NEEDED to buy. Well, I didn't really need them. I wanted them. Huge difference. It just so happened that yesterday I received a boost of reassurance and confidence while hanging out at me mums house for the 4th. I decided to look through the July issue of the Ensign. I swear this article was written just for me, but I'm positive we aren't the only ones in this boat. There was an excellent article on Getting out of Debt-for Good that said all of the right things to help me know we're doing the right thing. To be completely honest, this isn't the first time an article or talk has been given to those belonging to our religion about avoiding the bondage of debt. I guess we just figured the things that we were getting on credit were all right because they are a part of the "cultural norm" of attaching debt to almost everythi...

Spending Fast

by Erin Hanson I recently stumbled upon this blog that introduced the idea of going on a S pending Fast as a way do get out of debt and adjust the the way you spend every penny of all your hard earned money. Anna, the author of the blog, found herself in over $20,000 in debt and needed a money spending adjustment and decided on only spending money on the things that she needed , not wanted . She did the fast for a year and completely paid off her debt! After a long conversation with Mr. Barber, we decided to implement the Spending Fast into our lives starting now. We set no date as to when it will end, just when we have our cars and student loans paid off. When I quit work and added a new addition to our family, we made some major changes to what we spent money on. It made a big difference, but we still weren't making that big of a dent into our debts and we definitely weren't putting enough into savings. Our goal is to get out of debt and start to put money into savings as q...
