First Group of 12

Here's the deal. I hate American Idol, but I have to watch it! Dang It. So this season they are doing 3 groups of 12 and the top girl and top boy go through then the next person with the highest # of votes goes through and then there is a wild card. Not quite sure how the wild card round will work.

In my world, this would be the 3 that would advance.

Top Boy
Danny Gokey
(sorry this was the best picture I could find)

Top Girl
Alexis Grace

I didn't 100% love her but there wasn't much to pick from.

Runner Up
Michael Sarver

Some others were okay, but I wasn't really that impressed.
I have some major issues though.
#1 The microphone- everything about it. The look, the sound. It just stinks.
#2 The sound- Something was wrong with the judges mics and they kept putting echoes on every performance. It was driving me nuts! Everything sounded so karaoke.
# 3 This girls performance-
Casey Charlson.
It was absolutely ridiculous! I wanted to throw up.

Tell me what you think will ya?

I haven't watched it yet and probably won't now until next week. We are going to go to Cali. I should be packing right now...oh well. Sorry we're not going to St. George. Hope you guys have a great week. Thanks for the heads up on the AI stuff. I can't wait to see it! Actually, maybe I'll watch last night episode while I'm packing or something...ya.

I dont watch it. I don't even know when it's on or anything. The only show I am following is True Beauty on Monday nights. So I am out of the loop!

Totally agree. Stupid show up until the top 12. Good picks---exactly what we think...and it was so karaoke!!! I do like the new judge, though, and agree with everything Simon says.

I totally agree with your #1 and #2. But I hated everyone else. And I'm sorry...but who CHOOSES to sing a Taylor Swift song???? I don't remember the girl's name; she's darling, but really? Taylor Swift doesn't even sing her own stuff!! lol. (I like her, but c'mon.) And hear, hear about the microphones. American Idol and I have a hate/love relationship as well. I have to watch it. Dang it. :)

I watched the first episode...I don't even know where we were {because we don't get fox}. Anyway, I saw your first pick get chosen to move on and I liked him. Isn't he a music teacher or something? GO MUSIC TEACHERS!!!
I totally agreed with you and hey so did America. I watched both shows last night. Yeah!! No more Tatianna aka Drama Queen!

I pretty much agreed with you. I had to fast forward most of it. I think Stevie was my least fav. Could Tatiana be even more dramatic when she didn't get picked. I don't know if I could handle her any more.

Playlist Fun

I thought this would be a cool idea, and a chance for me to brag about how awesome we are ;) I decided to create a playlist that only had bands on it that either Jena or I (or both) have seen in concert. So you are now listening to this playlist. Here is a little information to go along with the playlist: It only includes bands that we wanted to see, it doesn't include opening bands (unless we really liked them). You will notice that there is more than 1 song for a few of the bands. This reflects how many times we have seen them live. (Yes, I have seen Red Hot Chili Peppers 3 times, and I will see them again if I have the chance.) I refused to include songs from 2 of the concerts that Jena has been to, for personal reasons. These concerts are Garth Brooks and The Dixie Chicks. The first concert I ever went to was in 8th grade and it was Jimmy Page and Robert Plant. You know, from Led Zeppelin. I took my dad to see Deep Purple for Father's Day a few years back. Smoke on the Wate...

Look Who's Gettin' Married!

Dallin and Sam  are getting married in May! We just love Sam and are super excited to have her in our family. In other news... Jordis is 8 months old... ... and she has us laughing everyday! Our Everyday Life: Weeks 15-21

Where do I begin?! A lot has happened in the few short weeks that I haven't blogged. We unexpectedly moved back to Utah! Not only Utah, but our old hometown. **** Before we moved back to Utah, we visited family in Utah for Thanksgiving. Creating hand turkeys with Mema for thanksgiving. Jordis was quite positive that we couldn't see her. Barber Family Photo! I think he's pretty handsome... Boy band shot. All the grand kids.  We made candy sleds to race at GG's house with some of Jordis' cousins.  ****    We frequently head to the Harley store as a form of entertainment. Jordis could ride on this rocking  Harley all day. Notice that she HAS to wear gloves while riding. We had one last get together with some of our really good friends in Twin before we left. Visiting someones house that they decorate their entire yard and ...
