Since starting our spending fast back in June, we have put a total of around $2,000 towards debt. This includes paying off one debt completely! It feels kinda good to have something paid off and know that it will never be there again since we have changed our thought process on how we spend our hard earned money.
Here are a few things that we have done to cut back on spending.
1. Went from two cell phones to one.
I have had a cell phone since I graduated from high school. Needless to say, this was extremely difficult at first. I'm now use to not having one, but that doesn't mean I miss having it.
2. Use less disposable diapers.
We have cloth diapers that we used about half of the time. So we changed that to most of the time except for when we are out and about and nighttime. We also purchased Huggies diapers so we changed to the less expensive Touch of Nature diapers from Smith's. They are actually the best disposable diapers we have tried on the wee one and we've tried a lot.
This might sound a bit crazy, but all I've been able to think about lately is saving money. That can't be a bad thing, right?
I've been in a selling mode.
First up is was the VW.
SOLD!
We got this here car for a pretty good deal, but it took mid-grade gas so we decided to sell her when we started our Spending Fast. So now we're down to one car. Chris has been taking the bus to work, but that adds on an extra 2 hours to his commute every day and he can't keep that up because his LAST SEMESTER of school starts in a few weeks! YAY! We did purchase something less expensive, has EXCELLENT gas mileage, and very good looking to replace the VW.
Our Snowboards and Boots
We haven't been snowboarding in years and we won't be using these anytime soon. I wish it wasn't so blooming expensive to go boarding... oh well.
Airwalk size 145 snowboard with SIMS bindings and women's size 7 Airwalk boots.
For Sale $60-obo
Purged size 144 snowboard with SIMS binding and men's size 11 Airwalk boots.
For Sale $40-obo
Brother xl-5500 Sewing Machine
For Sale $40-obo
The reason I'm selling this is because it kinda takes money to sew things and I have zero supplies for it. One day I'd like to be an excellent seamstress though.
We also have lots and lots of fire wood and decorative smooth river rocks.
If you would like to purchase any of these things, call, e-mail, comment here, or message me through Facebook.
We'd love to sell them to you!
Happy Saving!
