Top Seven

So, tonight on American Idol the theme was songs from the movies... where do they come up with these categories? On top of that, why was Quentin Tarantino the guest mentor? Don't get me wrong, he is an amazing movie director and I love most of his movies, but what does he know about singing? Also, I don't like that only two of the judges get to comment because that means I don't get to hear what Simon has to to say on half of them.

I will do things a little different tonight by giving my 2 cents on every performance.
Take it for what it's worth.

Allison: Don't want to miss a thing

I have always liked Allison and it is true what Simon said. She is the "girl's" only hope.

Anoop: Everything I do

Still don't like you Mr. Desai even if you did sound a little better tonight.

Adam: Born to be wild
What can I say... loved it. Are you surprised? I hope that one day he picks an Iron Maiden song. That would be sweet. Click here and play the top song to see why. Make sure you get to the chorus.

Matt: Have you ever really loved a woman

He did an OK job. Just OK. I felt like he did really good in some parts of the song, but lost it in others. He might be going home tomorrow.

Danny: Endless love

Sorry people... Danny is losing his touch. Sure he gas a great voice, but he bores me.

Kris: Falling slowly
I have LOVED this song since the first time I heard it. So simple and easy to listen to. I adore Kris and I am so happy he picked this song. Vocals weren't the best, but it was still great. P.S. (from Chris) He should sing a song from Little Shop of Horrors, because he totally looks like Rick Moranis.

Lil: The Rose

I DO NOT like this song, therefore I didn't like this performance. As much as I don't want it to be five guys and one girl next week... I do.

I didn't like that Iron Maiden song you suggested. The chorus was ok, but the rest was lame. Sorry, sometimes we have very different taste in music. But I do agree with everything else you said.

Playlist Fun

I thought this would be a cool idea, and a chance for me to brag about how awesome we are ;) I decided to create a playlist that only had bands on it that either Jena or I (or both) have seen in concert. So you are now listening to this playlist. Here is a little information to go along with the playlist: It only includes bands that we wanted to see, it doesn't include opening bands (unless we really liked them). You will notice that there is more than 1 song for a few of the bands. This reflects how many times we have seen them live. (Yes, I have seen Red Hot Chili Peppers 3 times, and I will see them again if I have the chance.) I refused to include songs from 2 of the concerts that Jena has been to, for personal reasons. These concerts are Garth Brooks and The Dixie Chicks. The first concert I ever went to was in 8th grade and it was Jimmy Page and Robert Plant. You know, from Led Zeppelin. I took my dad to see Deep Purple for Father's Day a few years back. Smoke on the Wate...

Our Everyday Life: Weeks 15-21

Where do I begin?! A lot has happened in the few short weeks that I haven't blogged. We unexpectedly moved back to Utah! Not only Utah, but our old hometown. **** Before we moved back to Utah, we visited family in Utah for Thanksgiving. Creating hand turkeys with Mema for thanksgiving. Jordis was quite positive that we couldn't see her. Barber Family Photo! I think he's pretty handsome... Boy band shot. All the grand kids.  We made candy sleds to race at GG's house with some of Jordis' cousins.  ****    We frequently head to the Harley store as a form of entertainment. Jordis could ride on this rocking  Harley all day. Notice that she HAS to wear gloves while riding. We had one last get together with some of our really good friends in Twin before we left. Visiting someones house that they decorate their entire yard and ...
