We went to Lisbon Portugal for our 5th Anniversary, and oh my goodness, it was spectacular!
We ended up leaving at half time because #1 There were so many people there we wanted to leave before the crowd.
#2 EVERYONE around us was smoking. It was making us sick.
This is what we saw when we walked out of the stadium. Garbage everywhere! I always get upset when Peach Days is over and there is garbage everywhere... this was a whole other ball game.

OK, so getting there is half the fun right?
Wrong.
We got up at 3:30 a.m. to catch our 7:30 flight to Phoenix which was great! Nice and short.
Next flight was to Philadelphia where we had a longer layover and we tried to sleep, but that didn't happen.
Of course the last flight was to Lisbon. Six and a half hours later we saw light and the most western coast of Europe. What a sight.

So we got off of the plane and started our first day on the town (we were up for like 24 hours!)
Here is the first meal I ate there (Chris had an upset stomach so he didn't get anything)

This is a typical meal there. Fried chicken and yes, french fries.
Waiting for our first of MANY metro rides. Their public transportation system was amazing.
Our first outing was to go to a futebol game (known to you as soccer)
The game was between the two top teams in Portugal, Sporting Lisboa and FC Porto. We were at Sporting's stadium so it was mainly their fans. Oh man, the fans there are CRAZY! It was the loudest thing I have ever heard. Here is a little sample....
